Richard Spencer

From IncelWiki.org, the incel encyclopedia

Richard Spencer is a prominent racist, anti-Semite, white supremacist, eugenics supporter, advocate for institutionalization of the mentally ill, and self-described liberal (when dating)[1] living in the USA. He coined the term alt-right, on a blog that used to feature Andy Nowicki. He used to frequently mention and flirt with incels, 4chan culture, and NEETs.

He devoted at least three hours of his podcast in 2018 to incels.

On incels[edit]

In his podcasts about incel people, Richard and company joked about letting incel people go to war with and enslave boomers so that incels can rape boomers “rape-of-the concubines” style thereby getting rid of their inceldom.[2][3]

Richard's white nationalist co-host Gregory Conte earnestly said that incel people are the most important social phenomenon, which made Richard laugh a bit. Conte also said that governments that don't recognize incel rage deserve to fall.[4][5]

He also lives in the same general vicinity of a lot of incel forum owners and prominent self-identified incel people grew up in, suggesting that Southern USA and specifically Virginia must have some sort of strong effect on people.

2021 reversal[edit]

During 2021, Richard became incelphobic. He elaborated that "female liberation fundamentally creates incels", "there's no going back", "women select for good genes", and thus society would be "better off purging incels", as there is "no use for them".[6]

There needs to be a new bottleneck, and we're reaching that bottleneck as shown by the decline of sex and rise of incel people, and we need to reach a point where we start purging these people. And I know this sounds cruel. But there's nothing to be done with them!

—Richard Spencer[7]

Other Politics[edit]

Angela Nagle describes Richard as a political grifter who is not actually ideological outside of race, and seeks to patronize anyone's political opinion as a propaganda tactic. Recently, Richard has made almost exclusive overtures to the left-wing, outside of his support for eugenics. This has led many people in the alt-right to label Richard as a fed, a socialist, and a nazbol (national-bolshevik). Richard seems to take absolutely no issue with the label of “socialist”. He has stated he is not a conservative, and that he has stated this many times. He has stated explicit belief in political progress, legalizing distribution of child pornography to pedophiles to “keep them from harming children”, gun control, medicare-for-all, withdrawing troops from dictatorial countries, appreciation of non-binary presenting female actresses, appreciation of caramelized onions (“hot stuff”), tolerance of gay marriage, and authoritarianism in general.

Goal[edit]

He most notably advocates the creation of a white ethnostate in American, seemingly not realizing Maine exists. Released private recordings reveal that he supports “ruling over” anyone who is even slightly not white, and sees himself as a ruler.[8] Richard and his friends shout "sig heil" repeatedly, in public and private. This cements his status as a Hitler-supporter.[9]

2020 Election[edit]

In early 2020, Richard expressed support for Bernie Sanders, stating that Sanders would do the most good for white people out of all of the candidates in any party.

In August and September of 2020, Richard officially endorsed Joe Biden for the presidency, after months of expressing distaste for the results of Trump's presidency, which included a near-total deplatforming of the alt-right, an increase in minority crimes, and not much done on the immigration front.

Spencer said that his Biden endorsement wasn't a troll or an “accelerationist” position, but he said that he genuinely believed that liberals were more competent than conservatives, and stated that he is not personally a liberal or a conservative.

Post-Biden political shift[edit]

After Biden got elected, Richard abandoned the incel subject and became more interested in finding commonalities between national-socialism and Biden/Harris-flank Democratic Party politics. Specifically, Richard has spent an inordinate amount of time including arguing for abortion rights on the basis of eugenics, COVID authoritarianism, the re-institutionalization of those deemed severely mentally ill, and the censorship of right-wing websites which celebrate violent hate crimes.

Conflict with incels[edit]

Spencer has stated that he is anti-free-speech, something that does not play well in incel communities. Also, in late-2019, Spencer has used the term “incel” as an insult, and seems to have ended his public sympathy for incel people, without explanation given.
