Guanggun is a common Chinese term for incel. It translates to, "bachelor", but also carries connotations of having no money, skills, or good appearance.[1]

Chinese economists on the gunanggun[edit]

Some Chinese economists such as Xie Zuoshi and Yew-Kwang Ng have proposed potential solutions to "the guanggun problem", most notably a potential wife sharing, or "two husband rule".


In 2010, a Chinese comedy movie called, "Guanggun'er",[2] about men in the Gu Jia Gou Village, where men vastly outnumber women. Some buy women from the Sichuan province, while others remain sexless, and others find ways to sneakily have sex.
